TO THEVIKINGS SOCCER CLUB (VSC) COACHES AND PARENTS,
The VSC has introduced a parent conduct code intended to curb unruly and unsportsmanlike behavior. Each parent and coach should have read, understood, signed and adhered to the statements and principals stated on the code.
A VSC referee or board member may eject a parent, coach or spectator from the field and excuse him or her to the parking lot for the remainder of the game if their behavior warrants it. The game will be suspended until the situation is properly taking care of. This will be the only way to ensure the safety of the participants and the integrity of our youth recreation soccer program. In the case of a coach's removal, the game will commence after an assistant coach or another parent takes over the coaching responsibilities. The children will not be penalized for an adult who is unable to control their behavior.
Behavior resulting in removal includes but is not limited to:
1. Verbal abuse of a referee, including questioning their calls 2. Verbal abuse of a player 3. Taunting an opposing player 4. Encouraging violent behavior such as "if he's going to push you around, push him back."
The offender's name will be recorded by the referee and reported to the VSC. Should the same coach have a second infraction, they will no longer be coaching for the VSC.
This letter serves as your first and only warning. If we stay focused on the fact that we are all out there for our children's benefit, we should not have any problems. It is the VSC board's sincere hope that no one will be removed from a game but feel we must initiate a policy nonetheless. Should you have any questions about this letter or anything else regarding the VSC, please do not hesitate to contact the VSC and/or theVSC REC DIRECTOR (J Vikings Soccer Club Board
